IB Habits

👋 If you don’t know how to get started, start with these ten essential habits

#1

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

It’s better to think ahead and plan, than to look back and regret.

Delay gratification

#2

Know what you’re getting into.

If you choose Art HL, know how many pictures you have to paint and how they’re graded.

#3

Rig the game so you can win.

If you want to win, make it as easy as possible for you to win.

LEARN WITH THE SYLLABUS // CHECK HOW YOU’RE GRADED // DOES THIS CATER TO YOUR SKILLS

#4

Art of planning your activities so you can achieve your goals.

Know your important dates and plan accordingly, for example

  • Mock Exams

  • Final exams

  • Internal assessments

  • University Application Deadlines

#5

What gets measured gets managed.

Track what you are doing, test yourself, see if its working.

If it’s not working, change your approach.

#6

The goal is progress and consistency, not perfection

Think of brushing your teeth

#7

Worrying is like a rocking chair

It gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere

#8

The discipline to show up and deliver every day is less painful than the regret of knowing you didn’t give it your all.

#9

Your workspace is not a place for storing things.

It is a place for accomplishing things.

Also, your bed is not a workplace

#10

Work with the time that you have, rather than against it

  1. Pick a task

  2. Set a 25 minute timer

  3. Work on the task until the time is up

  4. Take a 5 minute break

  5. Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer 15-30 minute break
